Interested in Custom Work?

What is a commission? According to www.picturethisgallery.com it is: “To order an original work from an artist.” It is custom artwork that I do for you! Do you want one?? Well you’re in luck! I do, in fact, do commission work. I do it all the time. I’ve set up this page specifically to address the shpiel that I usually send to people who are interested in getting a commission from me. Most of them…well, in so far all of them, want a commissioned piece that will serve as a tattoo. So if you’re looking for that, you’ve got the right place! If you just want a piece of kick-butt art, you’ve still come to the right place! So here’s a breakdown of the details:

Edit: Right now commissions are closed. Once I can get my plate cleared I’ll open them up again. Thanks!

How much does it cost?
Unfortunately I have quite a bit on my plate right now as far as work, family, etc. The time it takes to complete a commission versus the price I was getting paid just wasn’t making it worth my while (aka time way from my family). So currently, commissions are set at $300. If you need a commissioned piece I can do it quickly and high-quality for that price. Just let me know!
What methods of payment do you accept?
Just paypal at the moment.
How will you send me the final result?
I’ll draw the actual piece on an 11 inch by 17 inch piece of paper. I’ll then take it to Kinko’s and make a high-quality, high-resolution scan of the whole piece (at no charge to you!). I’ll then e-mail it to you. This way, you can do whatever you like with the result. Print it out on your own computer, take it to Kinko’s yourself and make a high-quality print, or whatever.
How long does it take to complete a piece?
About 2-3 weeks.
Can you start on mine right now?
Most likely! Right now there is no line. So get it while the gettin’ s good! Not doing any commissions at the moment. Have too much to take care of at the moment to get commissions done in any sort of timely fashion. Will open them as soon as I can. Thanks!
What will you do with the tattoo after you make it?
Unless you feel very strongly about me not showing the tattoo, I’ll post it here on my site. I’ll most likely change it (adding a background, other things that wouldn’t lend itself well to a tattoo). Let me know explicity beforehand if you DON’T want me to post it anywhere
OK already!! How do I request one?!
Go to the contact page and fill out the form! Make sure to select “Commission” for the “Regarding” field. Thank you!

  1. Hi there,

I’ve been trying to have my own design for a tattoo commissioned for quite some time but have been let down by two sources!
My wife stumbled onto your site after weeks of moaning from myself about being let down. Your site is amazing and your artwork top quality!

I’m hoping you will be able to design me a tattoo sleeve. I’m not sure on prices and if $300 is just your standard rate?

I’m after a full sleeve design. I like Tat’s which are crisp black and skin with no midtones and some gradients. I can’t afford colour.

I’m after a design theme of Angels and Demons. I really like your designs and would like a slender neked female angel with swan like wings battling a demon with ragged bat like wings for the top of the arm design. The rest of the sleeve i’m hoping for angels and demons embracing and morphing from clouds (very similar to the mural in the film ‘the devils advocate’).

I’ve been told previously that the sleeve design might be hard to translate onto a tattoo? or may look too busy? what would your thoughts be?

Ok, i’ve waffeled on enough. If you think you can help, i’d love to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks for your time

  2. Hi there,
I was wondering if, when i get the money cause i’m a little short on funds right now, if you could do a tattoo design for a commision of a gaurdian angel.
I was wodering if it could look like that knight from the “Preparing for Armageddon” picture with him holding the sword the same, but with it over his legs and in front of him and also the wings from the “The Guardian” picture. And is it cool if i get back to you when i get the money together, Cause having a drawing by you as a tat would look fuckin sick.
i’d like to hear back from you if its all cool
    David

  3. Hey,
I was also wondering if, for a second design, if you could draw like skin being torn open revealing a heart thats all bloody. Sort of like the skin was just scratched off to show the heart there.
i’d like to hear back about both designs if its alright.

  4. hey i stubled on ur site after lookin for ideas on drawing my own tattoo. i have drawn my friends but for my own i cant seem to grasp any ideas. is 300 ur standard rate? i want a chaos symbol . but i want the design to be origanal. it doesnt have to be elaborate. just origanal. for this too it will be 300?

  5. What is your approximate time frame for being ‘freed up’, as it were? I’m interested in talking commissions, but not of the tattooed variety. :) Please e-mail me and we’ll talk more specifics. I’m currently ‘tire-kicking,’ but a project we’re putting together will need some good artwork to go with it. Also, do you sell licenses for previous artwork you’ve done? Thanks.

  6. I have found the artist i have been looking for,i am just trying to figure out what part of the bible i am going to have you illustrate for me,i am looking along the lines of “the passion of the christ” type of illustration and i also want angels defeating demons and then casting the devil into the pit of hell,i don’t know if i could get something like that put into an idea for a sleeve tat but that’s what i want.I would use my back for the part where jesus would be taking the cross up to calvary and then the crucifiction would take place,i don’t know how you would work that into a drawing but i guess it would be a step by step process of jesus in his last few hours of life, anyway i’m looking forward to doing business with you and as soon as i put some funds together i will get back in touch with you and discuss it further and pick your brain for better ideas, god bless you man.

  7. We are looking for artwork for our upcoming CD and tshirt designs. We just signed a deal with an A&R compnay and we are in need of some killer art! We want to have a female cyborg as our mascot. Something along the lines of your character for your comic but maybe even more grittier. Also all of our stuff will be available for sale worldwide so this will be a good opportunity to further promote your awesome talent! Hope to hear from you soon!

  8. Hey man, when you open your commissions again, let me know, I am ready to go right away. I love your style and I think you would be perfect for what I have in mind for my tattoo design.
