The Stats
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself -- where you're from, education, etc?
I feel like I’m filling out a personal add…. lol
Well I am from a small town in Indiana, USA. I have been studying photography and graphic design on my own for the past 5 years.
My teachers have been my fellow artists and friends, their art and tutorials are my classes.
I hope to go to college in the fall of 08 to study digital art further.
2. How did you get into art?
Funny thing actually, when I was about 16 I had a good friend give me a link to a digital art site called Digital Blasphemy.
I was so taken aback by the pictures I saw; I didn’t know that people could do things like that.
So from then on, I really had a passion for art. At the time I wasn’t good at drawing or painting, but I really wanted to make beautiful pictures, like the ones I saw, for others and myself.
3. How would you describe your work?
Hmmmm, passionate.
I have such a burning passion for what I do. Each piece I make has a deeper more meaningful story to it.
My work is symbolic, deep, dark, epic, layered, and intricate.
Yea, I’m weird lol
4. Where do you get your ideas?
My ideas just come to me as I am working.
I cant just think of a theme or a scene for a picture, because I never am able to portray it how I want to be.
So I just sit down and let my mind unfold to its own ideas.
5. Who are your favorite artists right now?
I’m a huge fan of Linda Bergkvist, her work inspires me more then anything.
Jean Tay, just does amazing work, Marta Dahlig is another awesome artist, Kuang Hong is a master at what he does, Rolando Cyril brings so much emotion and beauty to a piece.
There are so many I could name.
6. Do you prefer graham crackers or ginger snaps?
I am a sugar freak. I love sweets.
I’m definitely not picky lol
7. Do you have a process you follow when creating?
My process varies from time to time.
Though since I mainly only do photo manipulation, I find a background that I want to be my base then I find the model I want to use.
Then I just work my magic.
8. What's the future look like for you, art-wise? Any interesting projects?
Well at the moment I am working on a CD cover for a undiscovered amazing band.
As for future, future, I am undecided on rather I want to go into the photography field or go into digital animation.
9. Did you watch cartoons as a kid? If so, which ones?
Heck yea I watched cartoons, I still do lol
X-Men by far was my all time favorite as a kid. Others were Sailor Moon, Escaflowne, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Transformers; I could go on and on…
10. Anything extra comments?
Well I want to thank you for featuring my art. My appreciation goes beyond words.
Also to new artists that look at my art or at the many others and get that same aw struck feeling that I got when I looked at the beauty that could be created.
Don’t ever give up on something you love, even if you feel discouraged or feel that maybe sometimes you just don’t match up. Remember that we all have to start somewhere, we all have had those thoughts and feelings. But I promise you, with time and practice, those feelings will go away. Then you will be admired for the beauty you bring to many others.
